1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 12/28/1877 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch admitting the unlikelihood of receiving any news from New York before his debt to George McCorquodale comes due at the end of the year. He asks for advice regarding the disposition of furniture at his home in the event of an auction and seems to ask indirectly for help paying for lodging for his wife and children away from home while the auction is carried out. Reference to Mr. Hill, his mother-in-law, Mary Mildred Amelung, Una Hawthorne, Rose Hawthorne Lathrop, George Parsons Lathrop, May ("Minne") Hawthorne, and the auction of his possessions. Sent from Way's End, Twickenham, England.
