1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 12/13/1877 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch informing him that George McCorquodale had sent a message granting an extension on repayment of Hawthorne's debt until after Christmas. He dismisses the consequences of a failure to pay by this date with gallows humor, and apprises Bennoch of his family's health. References to his sons Henry and John Francis Bennoch Hawthorne, May ("Minne") Hawthorne, influenza, croup, pneumonia, Bennoch's friend Frank, and Mrs. Bennoch. Sent from Way's End, Twickenham, England.
