1 Autographed Letter Signed dated 11/16/1875 from Julian Hawthorne to Francis Bennoch praising a speech he had written and informing him of his recent illness and his temporary support for his mother-in-law, Mary Mildred Amelung, and her two sons. He continues to discuss his ability to repay loans and asks Bennoch to send certain of his poetry which he had mentioned in a previous letter. References to influenza, neuralgia, the New York, a Sultan, Freiberg, Germany, King's College, London, "Saxon Studies", Francis Bennoch's poetry, Una Hawthorne, May ("Minne") Hawthorne, Hawthorne's children, and Mrs. Bennoch.
