Describing delayed discharge from army, fireworks on Independence day viewed from the White House grounds, hanging of the conspirators and assassins of Abraham Lincoln including Mary Surratt, desire that Jefferson Davis should be hanged for cruelties at Andersonville (GA), fighting against Maximilian in Mexico. References Confederate complicity in explosion of boat in City Point (VA). Sent from Briggs Barracks.
