1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 05/26/1862 from Francis Pollard to Brother and Sisters. Describing work at hospital including erecting hospital tents for expected sick from McClellan's Army, Kalorama which is a hospital for rebel prisoners, gifts from ladies of Washington to the regiment, assignments of other soldiers in regiment including guarding rebel prisoners and duty at Columbian College Hospital. References battle at Corinth (MS), government paying for medical care of sick soldiers sent to city hospitals. Enclosed Confederate currency as a "curiosity" (not included in folder); 100 confederate dollars worth 25 cents. Sent from Mount Pleasant Hospital, Washington, DC.
