1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 01/20/1862 from Francis Pollard to Brother and Sisters. Thanking for letter, mentioning Hospital Duty at Mount Pleasant Hospital and Carver Hospital, describing Cavalry Review on Capitol Hill in Washington (DC), describing placement of pictures and statues in Capitol Rotunda. Reference to Cliff(?) Barracks, care package containing sugar and tea, desire to go West and possibility of another draft, alien status of Brother John, himself being granted citizenship through volunteering, Patent Office's free distribution of seeds, Pollard's former work at a mill (most likely in Valley Falls, RI), serving as a witness for a Court Martial. Sent from Washington, DC.
