Van Doren writes, "The book came, I have read it three times, and now I can't come down from the ceiling..." 1 ALS dated 1/9/1964 regarding the poems in O'Gorman's book and manuscript, The Buzzard and the Peacock. Van Doren writes, "I've been excited all over again by the poet you are." 1 ALS dated 11/9/1968 regarding a poetry reading.
