Container Summary

1 TLS, 3 ALS, and 1 Telegram. 1 TLS or Telegram dated 12/7/1897 to George Richey of the B.S.A. Police in Salisbury, Mashonaland from W. Nichols Moueas? at Walbrook House in London. References to Mr. Soulsby, C.B., Secretary to the Lord Mayor; Rt. Hon. Lord Gifford, V.C.; Colonel The Hon. Maurice Gifford; and Thomas Kirby. 1 ALS dated 5/11/1900 written at Zand River during the Boer War regarding supplies and instructing when rations and forage may be drawn. The back of the letter is labeled "O.C. Kitcheners Horse" 1 ALS dated 3/26/1917 written to George Richey from another commander. "In the Miraumont business we lost nine officers killed and four wounded." Lists officers whom Richey would remember: Bull (possibly General Sir Edmund Allenby), Lewis, Humfrey, Rattody, Colman, Jock, the DVC. 1 ALS dated 11/24/1917 written to George Richey and signed "forever A.H." with specific battle plans written and numbered 1 through 7. Reference to Ypres, G.O.C. 49, the O.C. Support Baltn, Henson, Baphawe?, and the 33rd Div. "This is a sort? of `swap' for getting 2 Res baltns into YPRES." 1 Telegram dated 2/8/1938 to Mr. Colonel Richey and family at 68 Cadagan Square London sent from Tirane, Albania and written in French. Reference to General Zef Sereggi.
