Total of 7 ALS (with 2 envelopes) from George Richey to his wife Adelaide Richey. 1 ALS dated 7/3/1917 Reference to Harvey Nicholls. 1 ALS dated 7/5/1917 Reference to George and his son and the news from Russia. 1 envelope postmarked 7/6/1917 addressed to Mrs. Richey at 9 Chiswick Place, Eastbourne, Sussex. 1 ALS dated 7/6/1917 (the day of Michael's birth) Reference to Jourdain, Walker Hill, "We are busy preparing for the biggest show of the war..." 1 ALS dated 7/11/1917 Richey reports that they have left their seaside resort due to unexpected events. Regarding the birth of his second son, Michael, Richey writes, "What luck having another boy!" 1 ALS dated 7/12/1917 Reference to Lady Ellerman: "Try and get her to stand Godmother and if you like I'll ask Dugdale? to be his Godfather." 1 ALS dated 7/14/1917 Richey has moved with his Battalion to somewhere outside of France. Reference to Lady Ellerman, Alkin, Young "Mick" (Michael Richey). 1 envelope postmarked 7/15/1917 addressed to Mrs. Richey at 9 Chiswick Place, Eastbourne, Sussex. 1 ALS dated 7/29/1917 with details about the attacks and a sketch of positions.
