Total of 6 ALS (with 1 envelope) and 1 Telegram from George Richey to his wife Adelaide Richey. 1 ALS dated 6/5/1917 Reference to Captain Brothers and General Hunter. 1 Telegram dated 6/8/1917 from France to Eastbourne 1 ALS dated 6/8/1917 Reference to Emily, Walker Hill, Major Bailey, George Richey, and Freda Richey. "The General goes away on leave on the 20th and I take over the Brigade so if nothing more turns up (but it will) I shall be a General for a fortnight." 1 ALS dated 6/12/1917 Richey writes, "For the last ten days I've been working on a scheme of my own for an attack on the Bosche" and goes on to explain the successful attack in detail. "They are putting my name down in the list for Brigadier." Reference to the mayor of Blackburn and the bravery of Blackburn men - the 4th East Lancs. 1 ALS dated 6/13/1917 1 ALS dated 6/22/1917 Reference to the 23rd (Battalion?), Vernon, Winter, Lewis (acting C.O.). Taylor, Issac, Kelleat, Bess Thorne. Richey refers to himself as C.O. of the Regiment. 1 envelope dated 6/26/1917 addressed to Mrs. Richey at Lansdowne , Eastbourne, Sussex. 1 ALS dated 6/27/1917 Richey reports that they have been on the move and are now by the sea where the days are quiet.
