Reference to Freda and George. 1 envelope dated 3/2/1917 1 ALS dated 3/3/1917 1 Telegram dated 3/3/1917 1 ALS dated 3/6/1917 "We go into the line in about a week and I'll be glad for the sake of experience for the men." Reference to the Mattinsons. 1 ALS dated 3/8/1917 "I've been playing the devil with some of my officers who are a bit slack." 1 ALS dated 3/9/1917 "I'll be in dispatches, never fear dear, this time, not that I care a hang for decorations now, but Paulo will like them."
