His brother Mick who was a great friend of mine at Downside tried his vocation in the monastery and left to join the R.A.F. when war came. He was killed early on. The address given to me by Peter Anson would have been that of Hew Lorimer." 1 ALS 8/24/1940 with reference to an air raid on London. Richey writes, "Its a rum thing sea life really." 1 ALS 10/12/1940 reports that a ship was hit with a magnetic mine. 1 ALS 12/20/1940 reference to the Lorimers, Peter Anson, and the Duke of Bedford in Wigtownshire. *from Richey's notes: "The Lorimers. This would have been Hew Lorimer, formerly a pupil of Gill's...and son of the architect of the Scottish War Memorial in Edinburgh. Note Peter Anson comes into it again.
