Container Summary
1 TLS dated 7/9/1964 from Sir Robert Watson-Watt to Michael Richey regarding the awarding of the 1964 Churchill Gold Medal and the history of his "major invention, now universally called Radar." 1 TLS from Richey to a Christopher regarding the Watson-Watt letter. A biographical entry in the DNB for Watson-Watt. *from Richey's notes: "A letter...setting forward his claim to the Award of the Winston Churchill Gold Medal. There is no doubt that such a claim could have been justified but, so far as I remember, the Council of the Institute of Navigation thought it was not up to them to put it forward. I think there was no mention of it in the minutes of the meeting."
