LS dated April 1, 1879 from William W. Crapo to A.S. Cushman in Lausanne on House of Representatives stationery. The letter discusses the difficulties that Mr. W. K. Rodgers, Private Secretary to President Rutherford B. Hays, and Mr. Crapo face in convincing William M. Evarts, Secretary of State, of the need for a consulate in Lausanne that would involve Mr. Cushman.
