Container Summary

The author, who claims to have been present at the seige in 1707 and who is apparently writing in Montreal, has not been traced. Contrary to Charlevoix, he places the blame for French mismanagement of the defense of Port-Royal squarely upon the governor of the place, de Subercase, and accuses him of attempting to buy off criticisms that might have been brought against him after the fact.
