Livingston Price to Frank Leslie, enclosing a sketch [not retained] with lengthy caption [retained in this folder] for publication in "Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper" and paying for a subscription to the paper, which is to be mailed regularly to Col. Price via Washington, D.C. The sketch [not retained] shows the camp of the 145th Regiment New York Volunteers. The long caption discusses the formation and history of the regiment, with references to its organizer late Colonel William H. Allen, the improvements made to it by Col. Price, General Henry Warner Slocum, "Camp Jackson," General N. J. Jackson, and General A. L. Williams. Current officers are listed. Sent from Headquarters, 145th Regiment New York Volunteers, Second Brigade, First Division, Twelfth Corps, near Stafford Court House, Virginia.
