postcards., 01/01/1919-12/31/1919
Series-level Scope and Content Note
Contains hundreds of Ord family photographs. Particularly significant photos are those depicting Edward Otho Cresap Ord, Edward Otho Cresap II, and World War I. Deriving from the files of James Garesche Ord, the World War I photos include a few original photos of American Expeditionary Forces commander John J. Pershing, many original photos of French Field Marshal Ferdinand Foch and American officer Hunter Liggett, some scenes of German soldiers and equipment, and aerial photos of the German landscape. Although most of the World War I photos date to 1919, some appear to be war date. The photos are arranged alphabetically by individual. The World War I photos are filed under the following heading: 'Ord, James Garesche.' Taken together, these photographs provide a valuable visual record of the Ord family's contributions to American history.
