Correspondence and military papers dated 1899 of Edward Otho Cresap Ord. Includes correspondence to and from Ord at Fort Crook, Nebraska regarding Signal Corps property, particularly field glass and compass. Other documents include Typed Letter to Ord from Office of the Chief of Ordnance of the United States Army regarding stores, 1 Partly Printed Report: "Report of Armament Mounted on Serviceable Carriages and Platforms and of Ammunition at Benicia Bks. Cal. For the Month ending Sept. 30th 1899," 2 Typed Letters Signed (10/10/1899 and 10/12/1899) from Headquarters Department of California (San Francisco) to Ord, Commanding Officer at Benicia Barracks, regarding an issue with Dr. Cook on the base, and 1 Partly Printed Document: "Report of Troops, Civilian Employees, Means of Transportation, Rations, Arms, and Ammunition on Hand at Benicia Barracks, Cala. During the month of November 1899."
