Container Summary
1 Partly Printed/ Partly Manuscript Document: a commission dated Washington, D.C. 8/7/1861 signed by President Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of War Simon Cameron appointing John McHarg as Assistant Quartermaster of Volunteers with the rank of Captain. The document suffers from fading and water damage, but Lincoln's and Cameron's signatures are clearly legible.
