Correspondents include merchant James Brown, Maryland tobacco merchant Alexander Hamilton, Dumfries [Virginia] merchant George Gray, Virginia merchant Alexander Henderson, and others. Discussion of business matters. A few of the letters were sent from Scotland. Documents date 1717-1810. Arranged chronologically in forty-seven (47) folders.

1 Autograph Document Signed by Nic[?] Thomas, recommending Thomas Dawson for the responsibility of guarding the magazine at Talbot Court House, a post occupied by James Lloyd Chamberlain, who may resign. Thomas also recommends Edward Markland, first lieutenant to Mr. Paddison, to the command of a boat commanded by Richard Coward, who may resign, or any other suitable boat. Dated Talbot County, Maryland 8/6/1777.
