1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 5/5/1788 from Maryland tobacco merchant Robert Fergusson to Maryland tobacco merchant Alexander Hamilton, concerning a bond and statement of Richard Henderson and David Ross to Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, with mention of John Glassford & Company. Reference to pay of Alexander Henderson of Dumfries, Virginia, who could not make it to Maryland recently. Fergusson notes the antagonism between the Hendersons and the Hamiltons by writing, "Any correspondence of this debt must be throu [sic] me for the name of Hamilton to the Hendersons is as Montague to the Capulets." Sent from Port Tobacco, Maryland to Piscataway, Maryland.
