Correspondence of Edward Mendelson, 1973-1975. Contents include letters to the editor of "Commonweal" conjecturing on the meaning of the pseudonym "Didymus" which W. H. Auden used in his "Lecture Notes" column in "Commonweal" and the existence of unpublished material by Auden. Letters are from Edward Mendelson, literary executor of W. H. Auden, Harry Schwartz, and Richard T. Bray. Also includes letters from Mendelson answering questions regarding Auden's wish that his correspondence be destroyed after his death and that no biography be written about him and a copy of a letter Stephen Spender sent to Mendelson.
