1 Autograph Manuscript dated 3/22/1861 with the name C.P. Sengstack, Warden of the U.S. Penitentiary, on top of first page. This manuscript details the escape of two convicts referred to in Sengstack's letter to Richard R. Crawford the day before on 3/21/1861 that is preserved in the Crawford Family Papers: Box 1 Folder 80.
