Container Summary

7 AJE dated 11/23/1834-11/29/1834 containing JPB's accounts of his visit to the Livingston household during which Edward Livingston grants him the position of attache to the United States Legation (p.278). In addition, JPB describes the reception he attended, along with Levitt Harris at the home of Lord Granville, English ambassador to Paris (p.285). While there JPB is able to socialize with important diplomats and politicians such as, Count Orsini, Edward Livingston, the Duke of Orleans, and Lord Brougham. Pages 276-290 Pages 276-277 are torn out.
