Container Summary

7 AJE dated 11/2/1834-11/8/1834 containing a detailed description of JPB's sojourn to the Pere LaChaise on All Souls Day, during which he visits the graves of many famous people, including that of Abelard and Heloise, Maximillian Foy, and Andre Massena. He also recounts another visit to the Livingstons in which he comments on Mrs. Livingston's character, making it clear that he is not very fond of any of the family members. His latest literary interest is Francis Trollope's "The domestic manners of the Americans". Pages 221-243 Pages 230-231 and 234-235 are torn out.
