Container Summary

7 AJE dated 10/26/1834-11/1/1834 containing many poetically phrased thoughts and fears of JPB, particurlarly those relating to his Uncle James' chronic illness (p.208). These entries also provide a view into JPB's social life as he relates his evening activities which vary from soirees to calling on his many acquaintances, the most notable being the Livingstons, against whom he harbors a great deal of animosity (p.210). Among other things included are discussions of Robinson Crusoe, Faust, Lord Chesterfield's letters, and the on-going trial of a man impersonating Louis XVII. Pages 201-220
