7 AJE dated 10/19/1834 to 10/25/1834 in which JPB recounts discussions he has with different men regarding the theories of evolution and creation. He also mentions his meeting with a notary regarding the sale of his property in Alabama, the suicide-murder case of the Marquis of Pontalba, and his opinions of the novel Robinson Crusoe. Of most interest is his account of the tense dinner he has with his old enemies, the Livingstons (p.193) and of an incident involving the disgrace of Thomas P. Barton. Pages 190-201
