7 AJE dated 8/10/1834-8/16/1834 containing references to the Abolition Riots in New York during which Arthur Tappan's home was attacked. JPB expresses his negative attitude towards Arthur Tappan and abolition, despite the fact that public sentiment in Paris seems to be in favor of it. Also included is a description of the Eglise St Madelaine along with JPB's perusals of Miguel Cervantes' "Don Quixote" and Silvio Pellicio's "Le mie prigioni". Pages 73-86
