1 ALS from Z. T. Miller to his sisters, indicating that he expects his unit to move to Stevenson, Alabama. Reference to Oliver Otis Howard taking command. Description of an accident involving an exploding shell. Other references include Joseph Hooker establishing headquarters at Stevenson; Braxton Bragg falling back to Atlanta, Georgia, to be joined by some of Robert E. Lee's troops from Virginia; William S. Rosecrans being unlikely to be lured into a trap; George G. Meade having a chance to attack; Clement Vallandigham's chances for election; and criticism of Horatio Seymour. Sent from Bridgeport, Alabama.
