1 ALS from Z. T. Miller to his mother Ann Miller. Description of a minor skirmish and of passing through Hagerstown, Maryland. Miller expected fighting to ensue near Williamsport, Maryland and Winchester, Virginia. Passing reference to news of a draft riot in the north. Speculation on why Robert E. Lee's army was allowed to escape after Gettysburg, including rumors that Abraham Lincoln held George Gordon Meade in check despite Oliver Otis Howard's insistence on pursuit. Sent from camp near Berlin, Maryland.
