1 ALS from Z. T. Miller to his parents, with discussion of news from Vicksburg and of the Confederates' carrying the war to the north. Mention of a heavy fight when Alfred Pleasonton attacked Jeb Stuart at Aldie, Virginia. Other references to a dispatch from George Gordon Meade regarding a success; troop movements from Wolf Run Shoals, Virginia, Thoroughfare Gap, Virginia, and Leesburg, Virginia; the 12th corps holding Leesburg; the number of troops with Lee; and war news from the papers, Quaker guns. Sent from near Goose Creek, Virginia, about 12 miles from Leesburg.
