Lee crossing the Potomac into Maryland with his army, and Joseph Hooker's options with Lee moving towards Pennsylvania; sent from Centreville, Virginia. Also, 1 Autograph Document[s] (fragment[s], pages 1-4, 9, 10) presumably addressed to William Miller, analyzing the Union army's performance in the spring of 1863, with references in that regard to Joseph Hooker, Chancellorsville, Carl Schurz, Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, Oliver Otis Howard; labeled "73-A."
