1 ALS dated 4/19/1863 from Z. T. Miller to his parents, with references to no letters leaving Aquia Landing, Virginia; 12,000 men on the road to Culpeper Court House, Virginia; Union ironclads going from Charleston, South Carolina to New Orleans, Louisiana; and a visit of the cousin of Ohio Governor David Tod to Carl Schurz. Also, 1 ALS dated 4/24/1863 from Miller to his mother, with mention of the diary Z. T. has been keeping and will send home; raising black regiments; a visit by the Governor of Wisconsin; and Carl Schurz being ill. Both letters sent from Headquarters, 3rd Division, 11th Corps, near Stafford Court House, Virginia.
