Reference to hearing cannonading in the direction of Falmouth, Virginia, allegedly ordered by Joseph Hooker. Miller expresses optimism that the Army of the Potomac will be marching on to Richmond. Reference to a newspaper account of Port Hudson. Sent from Stafford Court House, Virginia.
