Container Summary
1 ALS dated 2/28/1863 from Z. T. Miller to his sister. Speculation that his unit is going to North Carolina. Allusion to Franz Sigel being reigned in by higher-ups. Mention of a flag given to a soldier by Carl Schurz. Reference to Freeman's Ford, where Henry Bohlen was killed. Mention of a salute to honor George Washington's birthday. Reference to a soldier in the 20th Wisconsin committing suicide. Presumably sent from camp near Stafford Court House, Virginia. Also, 1 ALS dated 3/12/1863 from Herrmann Nachtigall to Miller, expressing surprise that Miller had gone home, with mention of photographic styles and of Carl Schurz being ill and going to Philadelphia; sent from near Stafford Court House, Virginia.
