1 ALS from Z. T. Miller to his father William Miller, expressing his hope that the Union army will advance towards Richmond. Opinion on Z. T.'s brother Leon rejoining the army. Mention of Confederates being near Centreville, Virginia. References to the 54th New York, Carl Schurz, Franz Sigel, the 26th Wisconsin, the 10th Ohio, the 2nd Ohio, Julius Stahel, Freeman's Ford, Henry Bohlen, Irvin McDowell, Second Bull Run, Clement Vallandigham, the 73rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, George B. McClellan, and speculation that the fighting would be over by Christmas. Sent from Fairfax Court House, Virginia.
