Correspondence to Katherine Biddle regarding the establishment of the Bollingen Prize in Poetry to be awarded annually by the Yale University Library. Includes correspondence from James T. Babb, Yale University librarian; Donald Gallup, curator, collection of American Literature, Yale University library; Charles Seymour, Yale University president; Karl Shapiro (TLS 2/26/1950); and Allen Tate (TL carbon 1/21/1957 to James Babb). Includes photograph (b/w, 8X10") of the Bollingen Prize in Poetry executive committee comprised of Leonie Adams, Conrad Aiken, Karl Shapiro, Katherine Biddle. At the time, the committee met to select Wallace Stevens as the 1950 winner of the prize.
