1 ALS from John William McHarg (b. 1843) to his brother Henry McHarg, with discussion of living quarters. Reference to the 14th New Jersey, the 5th Connecticut, the 29th Ohio expected to march through Leesburg (Virginia) to join Ambrose E. Burnside, the 3rd Delaware replacing the 29th Ohio, an estimated 5000 sick and wounded in the hospitals in Frederick (Maryland), the secessionist sentiments of citizens of Frederick (Maryland), and town boys sleighing and skating. Sent from assistant quartermaster's office, Frederick, Maryland.
