This letter does not appear in the published book "The Complete Works of Washington Irving: Letters, Volume III, 1839-1845." The copy in this letterbook is unsigned, but it reads "Signed by the members of the Diplomatic Corps." The reply (copy) to the above letter is cataloged as Folder 62 in this collection.
