Scope and Contents
Typescripts of "Verbal note of the German Embassy to the Holy See to the Secretariate of State of His Holiness (August 29th 1941)"; "Verbal note of the Secretariate of State of His Holiness to the German Embassy (Jan. 18th 1942)"; and "Report of His Excellency the Most Rev. Cesare Orsenigo, Papal Nuncio in Germany, to His Eminence the Cardinal Secretary of State of His Holiness (June 27th 1942)" utilized as exhibits in 1945. Also two typescripts related to Poland: "Memorandum of the Secretariate of State to the German Embassy regarding the religious situatio in the 'Warthegau' (October 8th 1942)" and "A Note of His Eminence the Cardinal Secretary of State to the Foreign Minister of the Reich about the religious situation in 'Warthegau' and in the other polish provinces subject to Germany" (March 2, 1943).
Further includes a memorandum from the Office of US Chief of Counsel for the Prosecution of Axis Criminality (November 5, 1945) re: Vatican documents of January 18, 1942, and March 2, 1943, above.
