Contains 4 TLS dated 4/19/1962, 4/24/1962, 5/18/1962, and 6/20/1962 from Winifred S. Weislogel to her parents Catherine and George Weislogel, with discussion of the new Libyan capital at Baida, her impressions of the Libyan city of Benghazi, the oil boom in Libya, her travels in North Africa, personnel work at the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, and Libyan social customs. Reference to Esso, Libyan-American Oil Company, Wheelus Air Force Base, Algerian leader Ben Bella, the Black Prince (cousin to the King of Libya), Jerry Ferry, Harlie Smith, Bernice Jones, Norman Bottorf, Dick Duggan, Jim Ferry, Marion Hager, Lois Hobbs, Ambassador J. Wesley Jones, Anne Kiss, Ed Kelly, Ginny Muller, Helen Nagay, Catherina Stephan, Ralph Stephan, and Larry Russell. Weislogel sent the letters from her post at Benghazi, Libya.
