Contains the following printed matter written by Arthur Ransome: 1 printed copy of Ransome's essay "A Book for a Pair of Slippers" published in the February 1931 edition of "Young Wings" (p. 8-9, 18) explaining how he came to write the book "Swallows and Amazons." 1 xerox copy of an Ransome's essay "'Swallows and Amazons:' How It Came to Be Written" published in the February 1931 edition of "The Horn Book" (p. 38-43). In addition, this folder contains 1 printed copy of an essay published in "Young Wings" entitled "Swallows and Amazons" reviewing Ransome's book by that title (p. 4). And, this folder contains 1 TLS from Therese Doumenjou, Editor in Chief of the Junior Literary Guild, to Frank Kurt Cylke, informing him that photocopies of Ransome's appearances in "Young Wings" were being sent to him.
