Contains 1 ALS dated February 25, 1953, from Arthur Ransome to Helena Hirst consoling her on the loss of her husband, Francis W. Hirst. Ransome wrote, "Everybody who knew him knew how enormously valuable to him was the support from you on which he could always count. . . . He had a happy life and you gave it him."
