The major portions of the Harry Sylvester Papers consist of correspondence and manuscripts for his published novel, “Moon Gaffney”; and an unpublished work, “A Watch in the Night.”

Notable correspondents include writers, publishers, scholars, political and religious leaders, such as Harry L. Binsse, Paul Beecher Blanshard, Harvey Breit, Dorothy Day, William A.S. Reference to "Moon Gaffney" and to Sylvester's article, "Problems of the Catholic Writer," (in "The Atlantic Monthly," 1947). Note, Hasley's letter dated 1/4/1948 includes carbon copy of a letter he wrote to Edward Weeks, editor of the "Atlantic Monthly," with attached copy of a response to Sylvester's article.
