This folder contains the correspondence of New York Archbishop Michael Augustine Corrigan (1839-1902) to TFM, including those sent by Corrigan's secretaries, arranged chronologically, 13 items:@ @ ALS 5/10/1892. Relates private information on Dr. [Alphonse] Magnien's cablegram from Mgr. [Denis(?)] O'Connell [rector, North American College in Rome] [related to the Vatican's decision on the Faribault-Stillwater Plan] and on the McGlynn controversy [Rev. Edward McGlynn, pastor of St. Stephen's Church, New York City, had openly associated himself with the political economist and social reformer Henry George, resulting in his excommunication by Pope Leo XIII]. Corrigan wrote that his agent in Rome reported that McGlynn "cannot be restored until he submit to the Pope, and abide by his decision. Even then he will never, in my opinion, be permitted to ascend the Altar again." @ @ ANS 5/11/1892.
