The John L. Brown Papers 2, consists of 271 folders of alphabetically arranged correspondence with prominent twentieth-century graphic and performing artists, composers, publishers and writers including Josephine Baker, George Braziller, John Cage, Albert Camus, Marc Chagall, Carlos Chavez, Henry Steele Commager, George Dillon, John Dos Passos, Angna Enters, Paul Flamand, Gaston Gallimard, Julien Green, Alfred and Blanche Knopf, Claude Levi-Strauss, Jose Limon, Andre Malraux, Jacques Maritain, Carson McCullers, Darius Milhaud, Katherine Anne Porter, Ezra Pound, Edmee Duchesse de La Rochefoucauld, Theodore Roethke, Wallace Stegner, Gerald Sykes, Allen Tate, Virgil Thompson, Richard Wright, and 'Zev' (Daniel A. Harris).
