TLS (8/3/1950, 2 pages/2 leaves) from publisher Paul Brooks (1909- ) to John L. Brown. Includes enclosed copy of letter from Brooks to Carson McCullers concerning proposal to publish (by Houghton Mifflin) an omnibus edition of her short stories, as well as reference to McCullers' work in progress on "Clock without Hands." Also includes carbon from Brown to Brooks (8/8/1950) with references to numerous editors/publishers and writers of personal acquaintance including Renee Taylor, Gerard Boutelleau, Marc Chadourne, Henry Laughlin, Marion Saunders, Pierre Emmanuel, Henri Michaux, and Sylvia Beach.
