Contains ALS with postmarked envelope from Patrick White to Elizabeth Forbes re book orders. Reference is made to the following title(s): "To the Finland Station; a Study in the Writing and Acting of History" and "The Triple Thinkers; Ten Essays on Literature" by Edmund Wilson. Reference also to White's soon-to-be published novel, "The Eye of the Storm": "...I am very pleased with the jacket by Desmond Digby, who is an old friend as well as a good designer..." Reference also to White's novel, "The Cockatoos." Also, on learning that Forbes will be leaving Heywood Hill: "...I don't know what one will do when you leave..."
