Contains ALS with postmarked envelope from Patrick White to Elizabeth Forbes re book orders for his niece Frances Peck: "...I forget which books I decided on...A good alternative would be "Tess of the d'Urbervilles." I can remember being racked by that at her age..." Reference also to visits from Tom Maschler and Graham Greene. About the former he remarks: "...Tom read my novel while here, & seems very enthusiastic..."
