Container Summary

Contains TLS to Pieter Verhoog from C.C. Busch, managing director of the West Indian Company, Ltd., dated 6/16/1953 (1 page, in English). Includes ink sketch by Busch: "...We made another expedition to Congo Cay without much success. The only thing we found was a face as per attached sketch. This face was in a cliff indicated on the small chart in the corner. Apart from that, we only found sweat, blood and tears and we went over the whole island..." Includes 1 ALS reply from Verhoog, dated 7/2/1953 (1 page in English); and 1 ALS (7/2/1953) to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson re the sketch of the face carving referred to in Busch's foregoing letter (2 pages/1 sheet, in English). Other items include 3 sheets of autograph notes by Verhoog re the Congo Key; a travel brochure, "Welcome to Barbados"; and clippings re Barbados.
